Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join Whangarei Hospital. This permanent part-time role offers potential temporary hours up to full time and includes a 1.0 FTE parental leave cover to September 2027.

Opportunities to rotate across services every 6–12 months enhance professional development. You will work with inpatients and outpatients, supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team and regular supervision to advance

Qualifications

New Zealand registration as an Occupational Therapist and a holder of a current practicing certificate.
Current Driver's Licence.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Awareness of Occupational Therapy theory and principles of practice.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships between staff and clients.
Experience is preferred, but all are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to designated inpatients and outpatients at Whangarei Hospital.
Rotate across services every 6–12 months, including Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Stroke and Rehabilitation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver care.
