Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Whakatāne invites an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Occupational Therapy team. This fixed-term, full-time role rotates across medical, surgical, paediatric wards and supports discharge planning, aiming to enable patients to return home safely.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, coordinate with hospital and community services, and contribute to service development within Te Koru Rehabilitation in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with valid APC.
• Experience in rehabilitation and/or acute hospital settings preferred.
• Strong clinical reasoning and problem solving; able to work autonomously in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Deliver interventions across medical, surgical and paediatric wards.
• Support discharge planning and liaise with hospital and community services.
