Job summary

Sergeant Group is seeking an experienced Front of House team member for our Auckland CBD cafes, serving high volumes of dine-in and takeaway coffee, cabinet food and à la carte meals.

You will welcome customers, take orders, manage payments, and keep service personal even during rushes. A friendly, clear communicator with at least one year of cafe experience will thrive in our fast-paced team, with training and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• At least one year of recent front-of-house or cafe experience.
• Friendly, confident communication style and strong spoken English.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately while keeping service personal.
• Calm, reliable and professional under pressure with good initiative and teamwork.
• Barista, food preparation or cafe experience is an advantage.
• Supportive team culture with opportunities to grow within Sergeant Group.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and delivering warm, efficient table and counter service.
• Taking orders accurately, processing payments and using the POS.
• Running food and beverages, clearing tables and maintaining a clean cafe.
• Supporting the coffee station, cabinet and wider team during busy periods.
• Learning the menu and answering customer questions confidently.
• Completing opening, closing and cleaning duties to a high standard.
• Pitching in wherever needed, including dishes and light food preparation.
