Job summary

HealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking casual District Nurses based at Ashburton Hospital. You will work autonomously and in a team, supporting patients in the Mid Canterbury region with nursing care needs.

Key duties include wounds care, intravenous antibiotics and palliative care, with travel across the Mid Canterbury area. Registration with the Nursing Council of NZ with a current APC is required, plus a valid driver’s licence and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC.
• Post graduate clinical experience in community nursing desirable.
• Full drivers licence.
• Good communication skills, professional and high standards of presentation.
• Able and flexible to cover shifts across Monday to Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Wound care and management of common nursing conditions.
• Administration of intravenous antibiotics and palliative care.
• Travel throughout the Mid Canterbury region to care for patients.
• Collaborate with the District Nursing team and hospital colleagues to coordinate care.
