Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in New Plymouth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the District Nursing team. The role is 0.4 FTE, part-time fixed term, focusing on community/home-based care with a mix of home visits and clinic work.

Nurses provide wide-ranging care seven days a week from 0800 to 1630, with emphasis on assessment, wound care, and chronic condition management in partnership with primary care providers.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Registered Nurse practising certificate.
• Full NZ driver's licence (Class 1).
• Experience in rural/community district nursing preferred.
• Ability to drive locally and long distances daily.
• Ability to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide district nursing care in community and clinic settings.
• Conduct home visits and assess patient needs.
• Work 7 days a week 0800–1630 hours.
• Maintain driving duties across local and regional routes.
• Use electronic devices for patient records.
