Job summary

NZ Qualifications Authority in Wellington seeks a Director Sector Enablement and Assurance to lead complex, system-wide functions across quality assurance, sector engagement, school support and learner pathways within the Assessment Division.

You will report to the Deputy Chief Executive Assessment, lead through senior managers, and strengthen outcomes for learners and the wider education sector while ensuring integrated assurance and credible assessment systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior leadership experience in education, public sector, regulatory or service delivery environments.
• Proven ability to lead system-wide functions and manage multiple teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with credibility in senior settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for sector enablement and assurance across the Assessment Division.
• Oversee quality assurance, risk settings and regulatory practices in line with NZQA rules.
• Build trusted relationships with government, schools, tertiary providers and other sector partners.
