Job summary

JOBCOR NZ Ltd in Wellington seeks experienced heavy diesel truck mechanics to join their advanced service divisions. The role centers on maintenance, diagnostics and repair of heavy commercial trucks, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

  • Performing advanced diagnostics using OEM diagnostic platforms to identify faults.
  • Completing major mechanical repairs alongside routine heavy diesel servicing tasks.
  • Working closely with Service Managers and senior technical staff to resolve complex truck issues.
  • Escalating and managing technical repairs when required.

They are seeking experienced Truck Mechanics to join their advanced service divisions in Wellington. Renowned for technical excellence, the organisation operates NZ-certified workshops equipped with OEM-level tooling, advanced diagnostic systems, and modern, purpose-built facilities.

These workshops are designed specifically for heavy commercial vehicles and support accurate, efficient, and safe repairs on today's complex truck platforms.

Role summary

This role is squarely focused on heavy diesel truck maintenance, diagnostics, and repair and is well suited to an experienced truck mechanic.

You will be responsible for maintaining fleet reliability through high-level mechanical work, structured fault-finding, and adherence to strict OEM repair standards.

The focus is on keeping trucks on the road, reducing downtime, and delivering first-time-fix outcomes in a professional franchise environment.

Core responsibilities:

  • Carrying out servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy commercial trucks
  • Performing advanced diagnostics using OEM diagnostic platforms to accurately identify faults
  • Completing major mechanical repairs alongside routine heavy diesel servicing tasks
  • Working closely with Service Managers and senior technical staff to resolve complex truck-related issues
  • Escalating and managing technical repairs where required, including specialist or outwork solutions

Role requirements
  • Relevant automotive trade qualification, ideally as a trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic
  • Proven hands-on experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial trucks Strong mechanical capability across engines, drivetrains, braking systems, and chassis components
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and systematic fault-finding skills on heavy diesel vehiclesAuto electrical and hydraulic experience is advantageous but not essential, with training available
  • Applications welcomed from technicians with either strong diagnostic specialisation or broad mechanical expertise across heavy diesel repairs
