Add expected salary to your profile for insights

Established in 1980, this family-owned business began servicing the civil construction and engineering needs of large-scale projects in the oil and gas sector. Since then, they've grown into a trusted name across New Zealand, delivering complex infrastructure projects from the Far North to the West Coast.

With a strong, experienced workforce and a focus on quality workmanship, they complete a wide range of civil projects for central government, local councils, and private developers.

About the Role:

You'll be responsible for servicing and maintaining a variety of trucks, earthmoving gear, and heavy machinery essential to large-scale civil projects. You won't be stuck in a workshop all day either - at times, you'll head out in a fully equipped fleet service truck to support crews on site when breakdowns or mechanical issues arise.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Servicing and repairing diesel trucks and heavy civil construction machinery
  • Carrying out diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical inspections
  • Responding to urgent repair needs on-site using a fleet service truck
  • Working closely with project teams to keep gear running smoothly
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficient turnaround

What You'll Need:

  • Trade qualification in diesel mechanics or heavy automotive
  • Proven experience with trucks, earthmoving equipment, or similar machinery
  • Strong diagnostics and troubleshooting ability
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team
  • Full driver's licence (Class 2 or higher an advantage)

What's On Offer:

  • A stable, full-time role with a long-established and respected business
  • Excellent company culture backed by decades of industry experience
  • Variety in your day-to-day work - both workshop and field-based
  • Competitive hourly rate

If you're a practical problem-solver who takes pride in keeping machinery running at its best, and you're keen to work for a company with a strong reputation and team spirit - apply now.
