Job description

Exciting Opportunity! Our client is looking for a competent, skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair work on heavy diesel equipment and machinery both in the workshop and in the field
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Performing overhauls, servicing, and rebuilding components
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards to meet company and client expectations and industry standards
  • Additional hours may be required during peak season


Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic and a strong understanding of machinery and engines
  • Sound knowledge of Hydraulics is a strong advantage
  • Reliable, motivated and have a strong health and safety focus
  • Have the ability to problem solve / troubleshoot and work well as part of a team or autonomously
  • Pride in your work and finishing projects to high standard


In addition to these you will be required to undertake a pre employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal history check as well as be able to provide references on request and require the legal right to work in New Zealand, overseas applications unfortunately cannot be considered for this role.
