Job summary

TUMU Timbers in Hawke's Bay is seeking an experienced Forklift Driver for a fixed-term six-month period from October 2026 to March 2027. You will join the Despatch team to move finished products and load trucks with pallets and cut-to-length timber.

Role requires a minimum of two years forklift experience, a valid licence, and a strong safety focus in a fast-paced environment. Drug and alcohol-free workplace applies with pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Two years' proven forklift operating experience, ideally within manufacturing or warehousing.
• Restricted Driver Licence or higher.
• Experience loading trucks/trailers; double pallet handlers preferred.
• Commitment to working safely in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Move finished products safely with forklifts and load trucks/trailers with pallets and timber.
• Operate forklifts fitted with Cascade double pallet handlers.
• Adhere to 7:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday schedule (45 hours/week) with potential overtime up to 6pm.

Tumu Timbers isa progressive Hawke's Bay timber processing business, locally owned andoperated. We have a positive team culture with a strong focus on Health &Safety, Quality and Customer Service.

We are lookingfor an experienced Forklift Driver to join our Despatch team on a six-monthfixed-term basis from October 2026 through to March 2027.

About the role

You will beresponsible for safely and efficiently moving finished product and loadingtruck and trailer units with pallets, bins and cut-to-length timber. Ouroperation uses 3-tonne forklifts fitted with Cascade double pallet handlers. Hours of work are Monday – Friday, 7:00am –5:00pm, 45 hours per week with the flexibility to work until 6pm if required.

What we're looking for

• A Restricted Driver Licence or higher
• At least two years' proven forklift operating experience, ideally within amanufacturing, warehousing or similar environment
• Experience loading trucks and trailers; experience with double pallet handlersis preferred
• A strong commitment to working safely in a fast-paced environment
• Reliability, excellent attendance and punctuality
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
