Job summary

Viridian, a leading glass manufacturer and supplier, is seeking two Class 4-5 Drivers at our Highbrook site in New Zealand. You will safely deliver products, load and unload cargo, complete delivery documentation and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.

Shifts run 6:00am-2:30pm and 2:00am-1:00pm with a focus on safety and excellent customer service. Ideal candidates will have a Class 4 license (2+ years), experience in FMCG/logistics, strong communication, and the ability

Qualifications

• Class 4 license with minimum 2 years’ driving experience.
• Experience in FMCG/logistics and route optimisation.
• Attention to detail for logbooks, planning routes and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely and timely transport of goods.
• Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and planning tools.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
• Load and unload cargo, ensure load stability and proper distribution.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and proof of delivery.
• Interact with customers to provide excellent service.
• Follow traffic laws, safety regulations and hours of service.
• Support dispatch with schedule coordination and logistics duties.
• Collaborate with dispatch and team members to manage deliveries.

The opportunity!We currently have two Class 4-5 Driver opportunities available at our Highbrook site. In this role, you'll be responsible for the safe, careful and efficient delivery of our products to valued customers. You'll also assist with loading and unloading cargo, completing delivery documentation, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure deliveries run smoothly and efficiently.

This is a varied roster, with shifts operating across 6:00am-2:30pm and 2:00am-1:00pm.

What you're there to do:

• Safe and Timely Transportation: Ensuring goods are transported safely and on schedule
• Route Planning and Navigation: Planning and following efficient routes, often using GPS or other navigation tools
• Vehicle Maintenance: Performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance to ensure the vehicle is in good working order
• Loading and Unloading: Loading and unloading cargo, ensuring the load is secure and properly distributed
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including logbooks, manifests, and proof of delivery
• Customer Interaction: Interacting with customers at delivery locations, providing excellent customer service
• Adherence to Regulations: Following all applicable traffic laws and regulations for transport, including weight, safety, and hours of service
• Logistics Duties: May include managing supplies and office assets, overseeing office grounds, providing support for meetings, mail delivery, and other related duties
• Collaboration: Collaborating with dispatchers and other team members to manage delivery schedules and routes.

Skills & experience you'll bring:

• Class 4 license (minimum 2 years' experience). Class 5 is advantageous
• Significant commercial driving experience - preferable using multi transport platforms in a FCMG or Logistics environment along with an understanding of route optimisation
• Attention to Detail -Meticulous in updating logbooks, planning routes, and ensuring accurate paperwork.
• Strong communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers and other team members
• Strong load handling/loading/unloading/load planning experience - preferably with high end and/or fragile products including a strong understanding of pack/load restraint practices
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading cargo
• Exceptional customer service skills. The ability to provide excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries professionally
• Forkhoist & Hiab Licence is beneficial

Overhead crane licence is desirable
