Job summary

AMI HomeHub in Christchurch is seeking a Desktop Estimator to ensure designated jobs are estimated accurately and completed profitably. This full-time role sits in our Christchurch office.

You will generate causation reports, detailed scopes of works and estimated costs for property repairs, enter costs into our software, and ensure compliance with client processes and NZ health and safety standards. Experience in building and estimating, plus strong communication, is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and estimating projects.
• Strong understanding of NZ Health and Safety requirements.
• Knowledge of NZ construction regulations and compliance.
• Experience scoping, costing, and documenting projects.
• Customer-focused approach with good communication.
• Proficiency with standard IT tools and email/word/excel.
• Familiarity with job management software programmes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a Case Manager to deliver timely, quality projects.
• Generate causation reports, scope of works, and estimated repair costs.
• Enter all costs accurately into our software for trades.
• Follow client processes and ensure timely submission of documentation.
• Communicate scope clearly to all parties and ensure adherence.
• Oversee trades across locations and manage relevant documents.
• Conduct final handover and signoff.

Role Overview

As our newest Desktop Estimator, your job will require you to ensure that all designated jobs are estimated accurately and within client KPIs, all repairs completed and delivered in a timely and profitable manner. This position will be based out of our Christchurch office full-time.

Tasks will include (but not limited to):

• This role will work in tandem, as a team with a Case Manager, to deliver quality projects on time
• Generate causation reports, detailed scope of works and estimated costing to repair property damage
• Ensure all costs are accurately entered into our software to ensure all trades have correct information
• Follow all designated client processes and ensure timely completion and submission of all required documentation
• Ensure the scope is clearly communicated to and adhered to by all parties involved
• Oversee a variety of trades across different locations
• Ensure all relevant compliance material e.g. Producer Statements, manuals, warranty council documentation information is obtained
• Conduct final handover and signoff

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Building and/or estimating experience
• Sound understanding of NZ Health and Safety legislation
• A sound knowledge of NZ construction legislative requirements, compliance and accepted building practices
• Experience in scoping and costing projects, project documentation, project management methodology and software
• Customer focused work ethic
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good IT skills- email, word, excel etc
• Experience with job management software programmes
