About the role

We’re on the lookout for a Design Engineer to join our Hamilton manufacturing office! In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape technical solutions, collaborate with clients, and support both our sales and manufacturing teams. Your expertise in design, selections, and documentation will help us deliver HVAC solutions that are efficient, effective, and tailored to specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support & Solutions: Prepare accurate technical documentation, specifications, and quotations to support sales and manufacturing teams.
  • Project & Tender Management: Coordinate bids and proposals, working with various teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
  • Engineering & Product Development: Collaborate with engineering to develop energy system concepts, configurations, and layouts that optimize performance.
  • Sales & Manufacturing Integration: Ensure selections and quotations are aligned with production requirements while meeting client expectations.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Assist with product development, prototype management, and product enhancements while maintaining quality standards.
  • Safety & Compliance: Uphold industry regulations and company policies, contributing to a safe and responsible working environment.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. If you’re passionate about driving production excellence and making a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you!

What you will bring to the role

Role

We’re looking for a skilled and driven Design Engineer who brings a strong technical foundation and a solutions-focused approach. To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Design from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a technical-commercial HVAC/Mechanical process role, whether in industry or engineering consultancy (e.g., sales, estimating, or project management).
  • Familiarity with contract law, tendering, estimating, project planning, or financial analysis in a commercial or technical capacity.
  • Knowledge and experience in production systems, BOM systems, and MRP.
  • Preferably, experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, HVAC designs, or sheet-metal-related industries.
