Wade Group is a leader in the design and manufacture of world-class specialty vehicles. Through innovation, quality, and service, we deliver exceptional products tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Develop vehicle layouts, components, and systems from concept through to final design documentation.
- Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and production documentation including BOMs.
- Work closely with production and fit-out teams to ensure smooth transition from design to build.
- Refine and improve existing designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
- Stay up to date with industry standards, materials, and technology trends.
- Contribute to design reviews, project planning, and quality processes.
You\'ll need
- 2–5 years’ design engineering experience in automotive, specialty vehicles, or a related manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in CAD, specifically SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of compliance and safety standards relevant to vehicle design.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach – able to work well across technical and non-technical teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
