Job summary

The Dermatology Service at Capital & Coast District Health Board is seeking an experienced Dermatologist to join a small, dynamic team across the Wellington region. The role offers 30-40 hours per week in a permanent capacity, with opportunities to provide consulting services and lead teaching as the service grows.

Ideal candidates will be vocationally registered in dermatology with MCNZ (FRACP or equivalent) and have strong clinical and surgical skills for hospital-based care.

Qualifications

• Vocationally registered in Internal Medicine (dermatology) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
• FRACP or equivalent to be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ.
• Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team.
• Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care.
• Relevant experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting services and facilitate high quality patient care.
• Teach and supervise with a plan to expand the service in coming years.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has opened to join our small but dynamic Dermatology team in the Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley region.

We are looking for experienced Dermatologists who is available to work 30-40 hours per week.

As one of the four Dermatology hubs in Aotearoa, we need an experienced Dermatologist with strong dermatology surgical skills and a knowledge of medical dermatology. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work within a hospital environment to provide care to our patient population.

The successful applicant will provide consulting services and facilitate the provision of high quality care to the patients under their care. The role will provide teaching and supervision with a plan to expand the service over the coming years.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Dermatology Service is responsible for providing comprehensive dermatological services for the sub region, including Hutt Valley and Porirua. The Dermatology Service provides collegial leadership in achieving specific annual targets and outcomes in identifying and implementing service development initiatives.

Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
