Overview

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Deputy principal. English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts. 4PMU

We seek an exceptional deputy principal to join our senior leadership team from term 1, 2026.

Responsibilities / Role expectations

Strengths across the curriculum are necessary, with previous teaching experience across year levels an advantage. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of pastoral care systems, curriculum and appraisal and be able to successfully support the school\'s strategic direction. An understanding of accelerating achievement and culturally responsive and relational pedagogy is important. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of current pedagogy, professional learning, and data analysis will be key elements of this position. The applicant must have the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with our staff, BOT and lovely community. They will also need excellent organisational skills and be an innovative and forward-thinking educator. Upon appointment, a job description will be created based on the skills and experience of the candidate. This position has a teaching component of at least 1–2 days per week when required to cover illness or release, etc. Visits to the school are encouraged, and all applicants must have had senior or middle leadership experience.
