Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy, New Zealand's first online charter school, seeks a Deputy Principal for Ethical Digital Fluency & Safeguarding to join our senior leadership. This full‑time role combines teaching and school leadership in a digitally enabled environment, focusing on safety, AI use, privacy, and student wellbeing.

You'll lead digital citizenship, online safety, child protection and community education, guiding staff, students and whānau across Years 7–15 and wharekura.

Qualifications

• Lead digital citizenship and AI use guidelines.
• Manage safeguarding, disclosures and staff training.
• Coordinate online safety initiatives and community education.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital citizenship and AI use guidelines and acceptable use agreements.
• Be the child protection lead, managing disclosures and staff training.
• Respond to cyberbullying and online safety incidents, liaise with Netsafe and partners.
• Oversee privacy and student data considerations with IT.
• Support safe use of LMS and learning platforms from a safeguarding perspective.
• Run online safety evenings for whānau and staff.
• Lead Year 9 pastoral transitions and attendance follow-up strategies.
