Job summary

Bay Radiology is seeking an experienced Deputy Charge Sonographer to join the Bay of Plenty team. The role combines advanced clinical work with leadership responsibilities, deputising for the Charge Sonographer when required and guiding staffing, equipment, quality systems and service delivery.

You will work with a skilled team to deliver patient-centred ultrasound services across the region, contributing to mentoring and development of staff and upholding the organisation's standards of

Qualifications

• Requires NZMRB registration and current annual practising certificate.
• Excellent ultrasound imaging skills and knowledge of safety guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and development capability.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality ultrasound examinations using evidence-based practices.
• Support the wellbeing and development of the sonography team.
• Ensure imaging protocols are accurate and up-to-date.
• Manage ultrasound resources to maximise patient access.
• Contribute to quality assurance and quality control activities.
• Collaborate with radiologists, referrers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
