Job summary

Aotearoa Infinite Academy is building a Technology department for online learners. We seek a Department Lead for Technology to shape how Year 9–13 students design, code, build and solve problems in an online charter school environment.

You will lead curriculum design, oversee teaching teams, connect learning to standards and industry partnerships, and manage resources to deliver world-class technology education.

Responsibilities

• Department vision for Tech from Year 9 to 13 across digital technologies, design and materials.
• Lead online course design building design thinking and computational thinking.
• Create pathways linking to NCEA, micro-credentials, tertiary study and industry partnerships.
• Lead, coach and appraise teaching staff and foster a culture of experimentation.
• Oversee assessment, moderation and achievement data and act on findings.
• Manage the department budget, software and tools, in collaboration with IT.

• Course design. Lead innovative online courses and projects that build design thinking, computational thinking and real-world problem solving.
• Pathways. Connect learning to NCEA, micro-credentials, tertiary study and industry, including partnerships with tech and design organisations.
• Teaching team. Lead, coach and appraise the teachers in your department, and grow a culture of experimentation.
• Assessment and achievement. Oversee assessment, moderation and achievement data, and act on what it shows.
• Resourcing. Manage the department budget, software and tools, working with IT on platforms and access.
