Job description
Delivery driver and order picking and packing

Lush Logistics is a boutique logistics & warehousing company that specialises in storing and delivering to retail and hospitality industries.

About the role

We're looking for an employee who can represent us and our customers - premium brewers and cideries plus keg leasing firms from New Zealand - really well to the hospitality industry.

Dealing with the day-to-day running of our business, including warehousing, dealing with customers and orders, picking and packing pallets of empty kegs and collecting and/or distributing empty kegs around the Greater Wellington region. The main customers are a great bunch of people. You'll interact with many different people throughout the day through your collection of empty kegs.

Working mostly in an open yard and out on the road so need to be ok dealing with Wellington's crazy weather as you will be in and out of a delivery vehicle.

Benefits and perks

We offer a competitive rate of pay, some flexibility in your working schedule, with the opportunity to learn and grow. You can get a good dose of strength and fitness coupled with some desk time and every day is different. Grenada North based.

Skills and experience
  • The job involves: Working to keep the site organised (including keeping on top of palletising kegs)
  • Forklift duties in the yard
  • Supporting data entry and stock management daily
  • Accurate picking, checking, packing and loading
  • Heavy lifting – kegs and cases of beer (empties and full)
  • Back up delivery driver in our van to venues in the Wellington Metro area
  • Customer contact
  • Management of orders including checking incoming kegs for any damage
  • Representing Lush Logistics and our customers with a high level of professionalism, service and courtesy
  • Supporting billing and invoicing customers

You will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Preferably a current forklift licence or past experience, although will consider putting the right candidate through training
  • Confident using a computer and Microsoft Office
  • A clean full Class 1 manual driver's license
  • Experience driving a large vehicle
  • A sense of humour and an outgoing and friendly personality
  • Excellent presentation and hygiene
  • Excellent health and ability to repeatedly lift kegs & cartons & bend to wrap pallets - not suitable if you have back problems
  • Honest and reliable
  • Self-motivated and ok without other staff around to self-manage
  • Accounting software usage a benefit but not necessary
  • Health and safety knowledge an advantage

The role would particularly suit someone who has experience in warehousing, holds a current forklift licence, but is looking for an opportunity to take on a role working partially on your own, and then an overlap with another staff member who is happy getting stuck into tasks and doesn't need supervision. There are elements of an office role to manage stock, customer queries and the days collections or deliveries. This role mostly works on your own with some clients coming and going on an ad hoc basis.

Part time hours minimum 20 across 5 days in the office. As summer ramps up there is a possibility of additional hours. Working with one other staff member to overlap some hours for any full keg lifting.
