About the Role:
We’re seeking a hardworking, reliable Deckhand to join our crew aboard a commercial fishing vessel. This is a physically demanding role suited to someone who thrives in tough conditions, works well in a team, and has a passion for life at sea.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with setting and hauling fishing gear (nets, lines, traps)
• Sorting, cleaning, and storing catch
• Standing watch and assisting with navigation when required
• Following all safety protocols and maritime regulations
• Heading and gutting
• Maintaining deck equipment and ensuring vessel cleanliness

Location: Lyttelton
Start Date: 22nd September

Requirements:

• Previous experience on a fishing or marine vessel preferred (but not essential)
• Strong physical fitness and ability to work long hours in all weather
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive attitude under pressure
