Job description
Overview

It’s not every day that a job comes along where you really can change the world. Join us to be part of: creating positive change in the lives of the world's most vulnerable children; safeguarding the quality and integrity of data that drives supporter impact; building automated solutions that enable accuracy, compliance, and growth.

Join us as a Data Quality Specialist & Tester and play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of supporter and platform data. You’ll design and run validation routines, test pipelines and migrations, and build automation that strengthens trust in data, enabling insights and better supporter experiences.

This is your opportunity to join a professional, passionate and diverse team at World Vision New Zealand, who will stop at nothing to create meaningful change for children. Every day, as part of World Vision’s global reach, you’ll help the world’s most vulnerable families build safer and brighter futures. Every night, you’ll go home knowing you made a difference in someone’s life.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity across CRM, finance, marketing, and supporter systems using SQL, Python, Postman and other tools.
  • Build automated testing and anomaly detection / correction workflows.
  • Test ETL pipelines, integrations, transformations, and migration processes for accuracy.
  • Partner with Data Operations and IT teams to strengthen data models.
  • Provide reporting into governance forums and escalate systemic risks.
About you

You are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker who thrives on improving data quality and enabling better decision-making through robust testing and validation processes. You bring a strong technical foundation, curiosity to learn, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You’re not just technically proficient—you’re also a collaborative team player who communicates effectively and enjoys working cross-functionally in a mission-driven organisation.

You will bring
  • Proven experience in data quality management, data testing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience using validation and testing tools.
  • A strong understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and system integrations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated routines for data validation and cleaning.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams, contributing to shared goals and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance standards.
Desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure Data Factory, or Snowflake platforms.
