Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a practical, safety-conscious technician to Operate and maintain headworks structures and support Auckland's water supply. You will work outdoors around dams and water environments, communicating clearly with the team and contributing to network performance standards.

Ideally you hold a technical qualification or equivalent, with a NZ driver's licence and a proactive mindset to deliver reliable, high-quality work in a close-knit team.

• Operate and maintain critical headworks structures to ensure they remain safe and reliable
• Support the smooth operation of water supply systems through clear communication and operational support
• Help maintain the hydrological network so it meets performance standards and supports informed decision-making
• Work outdoors in and around dams and water environments
• Contribute to Auckland's water supply and support essential water services

Requirements

• A relevant technical qualification or equivalent practical experience
• A current full New Zealand driver's licence
• Experience working in a similar environment, with a strong focus on safety around water
• Confidence using computer-based systems and databases
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Comfortable working independently and contributing to a close-knit team
• Reliable, practical, and motivated to deliver high-quality work
• A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science is helpful but not essential
