Job description

Appleby Farms is a Nelson-based Ice Cream company established in 2017, aiming to be internationally renowned for our exceptional ice cream. We have won several awards at the New Zealand Ice Cream Awards and the NZ Outstanding Food Producer Awards.

Due to recent growth and the purchase of the Little Island Brand, we require a new Production Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team.

Position Summary

You will be part of a small but highly motivated team dedicated to making exceptional ice cream safely, hygienically, and efficiently at our modern ice-cream plant in Stoke, Nelson.

The role will involve a variety of production-related tasks, and no day is ever the same. You will need to be a real team player with excellent communication skills, be safety-minded, and have a great mechanical aptitude.

Previous relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment is ideal, and previous experience in the dairy industry would be exceptional. Full on-the-job and off-line training will be provided to help you reach your full potential, including the option of completing a Dairy Processing Apprenticeship.

The role will be permanent and full-time; typically 40 hours/week, although there may be a requirement to work longer hours on some days and flexibility for occasional weekend work to fit with the production schedule of our demand-driven business.
