Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Production Manager in New Zealand to lead the dairy production plant and drive overall performance. This role requires strong dairy manufacturing experience and a proven track record in spray drying, team leadership, and process reliability.

Responsibilities include H&S leadership, delivering targets, deploying standards, and sustaining quality across shifts. On-call duties may be required for 24/7 operations. A tertiary qualification and HACCP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree or diploma in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a dairy manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years spray drying experience, preferably in a nutritional plant.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and engage teams.
• Solid understanding of dairy processes and HACCP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Production Plant or line(s) and drive overall performance.
• Oversee 24-hour, multi-shift accountability for business results.
• Ensure H&S performance and culture on the production line.
• Drive process reliability and delivery of targets.
• Deploy and sustain standards and manage talent development.
• Meet people engagement targets and allocate staffing across shifts.
• Monitor product quality and drive continuous improvement.
• On-call duties support 24/7 operations.
