We have a fantastic opportunity for an intermediate level Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Wellington CBD-based team and take the next step in their career.

You will be part of our 24/7 Security Operations team, working collaboratively to deliver real outcomes for some of New Zealand’s most important organisations.

This isn’t a traditional SOC analyst role, we are looking for someone with an engineering mindset who is excited about building automation, experimenting with AI tools, and helping shape the future of how modern security operations are delivered.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring our ticketing queue and responding to security-related alerts/incidents.

Supporting BAU activities such as daily health checks, alert triage, trend analysis, and client reporting.

Onboarding clients to our SIEM/SOAR platforms and troubleshooting platform-related issues.

Presenting monthly SOC report to clients.

Contribute to automation and playbook development to improve our detection and response capability.

Participating in the on-call roster to support our 24/7 SOC.

About you:

We are proud of our culture, and we employ passionate people who share our values:

Raise the Bar – You challenge the status quo and aim for great, not just good.

Drive It Like You Own It – You take initiative and don’t wait for someone else to fix it.

Lead From Where You Are – You speak up, take responsibility, and move things forward.

Figureitoutness – You’re curious, resourceful, and thrive in messy or undefined situations.

Play to Win – You care about impact, not just activity.

Round Elbows – You work with humility, integrity, and a team-first mindset.

What you will bring to the team:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst/engineer, or in similar roles.

Experience working with SIEM, SOAR, and EDR platforms.

Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to process discipline, ensuring accurate investigations, thorough documentation, and consistent delivery against SLAs

It would be highly advantageous if you also have the skills and qualities below.

Experience with automation tools or scripting (Python, PowerShell, KQL, etc.).

Experience building or integrating AI tools or assistants into SOC workflows, automation, or investigation processes.

Relevant Industry qualifications such as Security+, Blue Team Level 1, SC-200 or other cybersecurity certifications.
