Job summary

Mico in Blenheim, New Zealand, is seeking a part-time, fixed-term Delivery and Trade Counter Assistant to December 2026. You will deliver products to customers, service the trade counter, receive inwards goods and assist with cycle counts.

A Full NZ Driver’s Licence is essential; forklift licence is advantageous. You should be reliable, organized and comfortable working in a small team with a positive attitude. Competitive hourly rate and staff buying privileges are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, retail or warehouse operations.
• Ability to lift and carry items; manual handling.
• Full NZ Drivers Licence essential; forklift licence advantageous.
• Reliable, team-focused, and able to work under pressure.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.

Job description

Reporting to the Branch Manager, this is a varied role that will see you involved in mainly delivering our products directly to the customer, however you will also be serving our customer on the Trade counter, receiving inwards goods and cycle counting.

• Ensure that our customers, who are made up of trades, businesses and homeowners, are greeted with a cheerful smile and exceptional service
• Ensuring products are organised and ready for delivery and secured to our delivery truck
• On the road safety delivering our products directly to site.
• Accurately checking and receipting product into our systems
• Support the team in inventory management and inwards goods

This is a fix term part-time role end in December 2026. Working Monday to Friday - 8am-12pm.

About you:

To shine in this role, you’ll need to be an organised and reliable team player who enjoys working in a close-knit team. Have a customer-focused and outgoing attitude and good work ethic.

• Proven experience in a customer service and/or retail sales environment/inwards goods/Warehouse experience
• There will be manual handling and some heavy lifting required so you’ll need to be physically fit
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport to support our valued customers
• A motivated, self-driven worker, with the skill to work proactively, independently and under pressure
• Plumbing background will be ideal but not essential
• Be confident with computers and learning new systems
• A Full New Zealand drivers’ licence is essential, and a forklift licence is advantageous
