Job summary

Parkview Pārua School in Canterbury seeks an inspiring Deputy Principal (Curriculum) to join the senior leadership team. This 0.6 permanent role starts 26 January 2027 and leads curriculum design, implementation and review to support high-quality learning.

You will build teacher capability in evidence-based pedagogy and the science of learning, use assessment data to guide decisions, and help strengthen belonging, wellbeing, and partnerships as we implement our 2027-2028 Strategic Plan.

Qualifications

• Registered teacher with proven leadership experience.
• Sound curriculum knowledge, particularly in literacy and mathematics.
• Strong assessment and reporting knowledge.
• Highly relational and collaborative, culturally aware including Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Commitment to wellbeing of every learner and to school motto: Learning, Caring, Leading.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum design, implementation and review.
• Build teacher capability in evidence-based pedagogy and science of learning.
• Use assessment data to measure impact and guide decisions.
• Assist Principal with day-to-day management and strengthen belonging and wellbeing.
• Support partnerships and transitions as we implement the 2027-2028 Strategic Plan.
