Job description

Sherwood is looking for an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. This role will be performed at 554 Frankton Road and is a guaranteed minimum hours of 30 and maximum of 50 hour per week.
The pay range is $28.00-$29.98 and will be paid weekly.

The successful candidate will have minimum two years experience in a professional kitchen environment in a similar role.

FUNCTION:
To perform a variety of tasks as assigned by Head Chef in a skilled, efficient, safe and hygienic manner. A Cook prepares and cooks food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for customers, following company recipes & guidelines. They help keep the kitchen organised and running efficiently. They ensure proper food handling, sanitation and following food storage procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in the kitchen as directed.
  • Preparation and assistance in the cooking and serving of food to company standards.
  • Check quality of ingredients on delivery, unpack & store produce to comply with Food Control Plan.
  • Monitor stock and place orders as required.
  • Ensure that your work is carried out in a timely and efficient fashion.
  • To attend and be responsible for all training provided to you by the Chefs.
  • To supervise & train staff where directed to do so.
  • Minimise wastage at all times and record where needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times & be conversant with Food Control Plan.
  • Take responsibility for a variety of cleaning duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that the established standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
  • Help produce an environment of learning and professionalism.
  • Maintain your self appearance in accordance with the hotel’s grooming standards.
  • Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
  • Comply with all of the established hotel operational policies & procedures.
  • Have a full knowledge of, and practice all of the hotel’s established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
  • Perform any other duties as directed.
