Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

The Griffin's Food Company – Wiri, North Island

At Griffin’s Snacks, we’re proud of our heritage and being New Zealand’s largest snack food company, producing a wide range of iconic and much-loved kiwi brands – many of which have been known and loved for generations.

We are on an exciting journey of change at our manufacturing sites which will give you the opportunity to work in an IWS (Integrated Work Systems) environment which emphasises lean manufacturing, standardised work, employee engagement, and data-driven performance metrics to create a culture of continuous improvement.

We are currently recruiting for an IWS Process Lead. You will be someone who has solid production experience, a passion for continuous improvement, who is seeking to build a career in operations. Key tasks would include coaching and training on the shop floor, delving into process related downtime and inefficiencies and building the standard processes to consistently deliver outstanding production results. You will achieve success by engaging operators and through cross functional collaboration.

What you'll be responsible for:
  • Analysing machine data for the identification and elimination of losses
  • Using data and analytics to identify trends and performance gaps, creating actionable process improvements
  • Participating in the Daily Direction Setting to prioritise and allocate resource for the next 24 hours, report on the results of the last 24 hours and agreeing on actions to identify and eliminate root causes
  • Leading the loss elimination effort by leading and coaching IPS (initial problem solving) and UPS (unified problem solving) activities
  • Managing the OPL (One point lesson) system for the area – assisting with creating new OPL’s when needed, utilizing SME’s and area leaders to ensure alignment in processes and effective implementation
  • Acting as the 2IC to the IWS Line Lead - leading in their absence.
What you'll bring to the role?
  • Ideally tertiary qualified (ideally with an Engineering or Operations focus) but this is not essential
  • Proven experience training and coaching - you enjoy sharing your knowledge and leading from the front!
  • Continuous improvement experience (extra tick if this is within food manufacturing)
  • Ability to use your initiative, problem solve and demonstrate an openness to change and try new things
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and collaboration skills - getting everyone on board across the wider business
  • Analytical skills - demonstrating your ability to understand production results and prioritise improvement actions
What can you expect in return?

In addition to having plenty of snacks on hand in the workplace, you can expect to be part of a supportive working environment where you'll feel engaged and valued, career growth opportunities, commitment to our community partnerships and a focus on health and wellness to make your workplace more enjoyable – including Volunteer Days!
