Job summary

ADHD Simple is a leading New Zealand service dedicated to adult ADHD assessments and treatment. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead complex cases, provide senior clinical input, and contribute to MDT discussions and supervision across nationwide clinics.

The role emphasizes ADHD/neurodevelopmental health, with opportunities to influence clinical standards and pathways, and flexible work arrangements including remote options and part-time or full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Current annual practising certificate.
• FRANZCP or equivalent qualification.
• Experience assessing and treating adults with ADHD.
• Interest in ADHD and neurodevelopmental health.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat complex adult ADHD presentations.

• Limit to four patients per day with built-in admin time.

Job description

Lead the clinical thinking on complex adult ADHD presentations and support the clinicians around you, without nights, weekends or on-call.

The Opportunity

ADHD Simple was created because we saw first-hand how difficult it could be for adults to access timely ADHD assessment and treatment. Behind every assessment is someone who has spent a long time waiting for answers.

We are one of New Zealand’s largest dedicated adult ADHD services, and our psychiatrists are the senior clinical voice in it — the people our Nurse Practitioners and General Practitioners turn to on the hard cases.

This is consultant work with one specialty and a defined pathway, rather than a mixed caseload spread across an acute service.

What You Will Do

As a Consultant Psychiatrist with ADHD Simple, you’ll:

• Assess, diagnose and treat complex adult ADHD presentations
• Provide senior clinical input and second opinions to the wider clinical team
• Contribute to weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings and supervision
• Help shape the clinical standards and pathways the service runs on

No more than four patients a day, on average, with admin time built into the day rather than left for the evening.

What You Bring

• Vocational registration in psychiatry with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• Current annual practising certificate
• FRANZCP or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Experience assessing and treating adults
• Interest in ADHD and neurodevelopmental health

Previous ADHD-specific experience is welcomed but not essential.
