Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide Consultant Psychiatry services in General Adult and related areas as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to new service models and community engagement to improve Māori health equity.
• Work with whanau/families in distress and support clinical leadership in mental health care.

Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti is looking for a 1.0 FTE Psychiatrist. We are particularly interested in a person that is willing to explore many ways of working with whanau/families in distress.

Position Description

Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti Mental Health and Addiction Services, Te Ara Maioha, have several opportunities to either explore specialties or generalist Consultant Psychiatry in General Adult, Mental Health Services for Older People and Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Days and hours can be negotiated. Due to new funding allocated to Tairāwhiti region for development of new service models and facilities that will better provide for the needs of the local community, now is the time to be part of shaping service delivery. There is a focus in strong community engagement in addressing inequalities for Māori.

Essential:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent
