The O&G service at Tairāwhiti is a small, dynamic team looking to employ a suitably qualified O&G specialist to join the service. This role will work collaboratively and cohesively with the other team members to provide effective services for the Tairāwhiti region. The Department is hospital based and provides a mix of inpatient, emergency and outpatient services for a community of approximately 50,000 people, with approximately 700 births per year.
We are looking for applicants who are keen to work in partnership with our Head of Department and other team members to develop our O&G services and work on continuous improvement within our Department. Time is split with 70% clinical responsibilities and 30% non-clinical. It is expected that you will also participate in the on average 1:5 on-call roster covering maternity, acute gynaecology admissions and gynaecology inpatients. Applicants must have Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) Vocational registration in the Scope of Practice of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be an overseas trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist eligible for MCNZ Provisional Vocational registration under the supervision pathway in the Scope of Practice of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
