Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a part-time Geriatrician to join the Older Adults Rehabilitation & Allied (ORA) services based with the Kenepuru Community Team. You will work within our Health of Older Persons services to optimise outcomes for complex older adults in home and community settings.

This role supports ongoing professional development, offers leadership in quality improvement, and includes supervision of House Officers and Registrars along with after-hours on-call at

• Vocationally registered in internal medicine (geriatrics) with MCNZ
• FRACP or equivalent qualification or fellowship pathway
• Open to advanced trainees with supervision available
• Full NZ driver’s licence
• Multidisciplinary team collaboration

About the roleOlder Adults Rehabilitation & Allied (ORA) services have an opportunity for a Geriatrician to join our team based in the Kenepuru Community Team. In this rewarding role you will work within our Health of Older Persons services to optimise health outcomes for complex older adults within their homes and community. Your professional development will be well supported within our team and you will have the opportunity to lead quality improvement in your area and supervise House Officers and Registrars. This role is suitable for a fellow or an experienced geriatrician. The role also includes after hours on-call based at Kenepuru Hospital and support of the in hours community phone advice.

About the serviceBased at the Kenepuru Hospital Campus, you will workclosely with the Kenepuru Community Older Adult Rehabilitation and Assessment(ORA) Team, one of four community ORA teams serving the Capital Coast and HuttValley District. This is a well-established multidisciplinary team with astrong culture of manaakitanga, collaborative practice, shared clinicalreasoning, and coordinated care planning, all focused on achieving the best possibleoutcomes for patients.You will also be part of the wider Geriatric andRehabilitation Service, which provides specialist care across the district. TheOlder Persons and Rehabilitation Service delivers care across WellingtonHospital, Kenepuru Hospital, and three community-based sites. Our geriatricianswork across a variety of settings, including inpatient consultations,admissions under geriatric and rehabilitation services, outpatient clinics, andhome-based assessments and visits. This integrated approach ensures continuityof care and supports older adults to achieve and maintain the highest possiblelevel of independence and wellbeing.
