Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley is seeking a Locum Consultant General Surgeon to provide high-quality specialist care for acute and elective general surgery. The role supports Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals, and includes training and supervision of Registrars in line with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, plus participation in the on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Vocationally registered in General Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
• FRACS or equivalent qualification and ability to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ.
• Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team.
• Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care.
• Relevant experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality specialist surgical care for patients requiring both acute and elective general surgery.
• Train and supervise Registrars in accordance with the requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
• Participate in the consultant on-call roster and contribute to a busy, diverse surgical service.

We are seeking a Locum Consultant General Surgeon to provide high-quality specialist surgical care for patients requiring both acute and elective general surgery. The role supports services across Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals and includes the training and supervision of Registrars in accordance with the requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, as well as participation in the consultant on-call roster.
