As a Senior Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Hutt Hospital, you will be part of a dynamic and skilled team dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals presenting with acute illnesses or injuries.

The Emergency Department at Hutt Hospital is part of the Hospital Operations Group within the Capital, Coast Hutt Valley district. We serve a diverse and vibrant community providing acute care to a wide range of patients, including a significant proportion of Māori, Pasifika, and elderly individuals with complex health and social needs. The ED team is multidisciplinary and inclusive, comprising but not limited to Senior Medical Officers, Resident Medical Officers, Nurse Practitioners, and Clinical Nurse Specialists who work collaboratively to deliver culturally safe, equitable, and high-quality care. This whānau-oriented environment fosters mutual respect, continuous learning, and professional development, making it an ideal setting for clinicians who value teamwork, innovation, and making a meaningful impact in their community.
Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region.
