Overview

Construction Steel Rigger/Welder

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Rigger/Welder to join our dynamic team. This role involves the assembly and installation of structural steel components for a variety of construction projects, including commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both rigging and welding, with a solid understanding of safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to plan and assemble steel structures.
  • Operate cranes and heavy equipment to position steel components, using rigging tools such as cables, slings, and hooks.
  • Perform welding tasks using MIG and stick welding to securely join steel components.
  • Use cutting torches and related equipment to cut and shape steel as needed for the project.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure welds and connections meet safety and industry standards.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and protocols, including proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely project completion within scope and budget.
  • Work on sites throughout Auckland.
Qualifications
  • EWP Certification or Rigging & Slinging Certification is a plus.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination with the ability to problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours or overtime as required by the project.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Work up to 45 hours a week on sites throughout Auckland.
