Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking experienced Construction Labourers for opportunities across Otago. You’ll support residential, commercial and infrastructure projects with a variety of laboring tasks.

Day-to-day duties include site prep, material handling, assisting trades, cleanup and maintaining a safe, organised site. A background in construction and the ability to work in a physical role are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' relevant experience in construction or related physically demanding environments.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools relevant to the assigned work.
• Physically fit and capable of manual construction labouring duties.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a construction team.

Responsibilities

• Site preparation, clean-up and general labouring duties.
• Loading, unloading, transporting and positioning construction materials, tools and equipment.
• Assisting builders, carpenters, concreters, bricklayers, roofers, plumbers and electricians.
• Assisting with framing, cladding, roofing, formwork, demolition and general construction work.
• Carrying out digging, backfilling, levelling and other manual construction activities.
• Safely using hand tools, power tools and construction equipment relevant to the assigned work.
• Maintaining clean, safe and organised worksites.
• Following health and safety requirements and site procedures.
