Job summary

New Zealand Government in Christchurch seeks a conservation practitioner to join a team protecting indigenous biodiversity across Te Waihora projects. You will undertake ecological weed control, animal pest control, eco-sourced planting, and plant maintenance on challenging wetlands.

The role is full-time, fixed term or secondment until June 2027, based at Sockburn / Mahaanui Office. Applicants should have weed control experience, plant ID skills, native planting experience, and a valid driver

• Experience with varied weed control methods, especially willow.
• Plant identification and native restoration planting experience.
• Current, full driver license required and ability to do repetitive physical work long‑term.
