Job summary

Concrete Pump Services 2002 Ltd (CPS) in Nelson, NZ is seeking an experienced and/or trainee concrete pump operator to join a six-pump fleet serving residential, commercial and civil sectors across the Nelson/Tasman region.

Candidates with proven pumping experience or a strong background in concrete, construction or transport are welcome, with the company offering training, a supportive team and long-term career prospects in a well-established local business.

Qualifications

• Proven concrete pumping experience or strong construction/transport background
• Current Class 4 Truck driver’s licence or higher
• Good knowledge of pump operation safety and site procedures
• Strong Health & Safety awareness

• Willingness to learn and develop pumping skills

Responsibilities

• Safely operating concrete boom pumps on residential, commercial and civil sites
• Setting up and packing down equipment correctly
• Working with builders, contractors, placers and site personnel
• Communicating professionally with customers and CPS team
• Carrying out daily pre-start checks
• Keeping pumps, trucks, hoses and equipment clean and well maintained
• Completing required job and equipment records
• Following all Health & Safety requirements
• Taking responsibility for equipment and ensuring high-quality work

Concrete Pump Operator – Experienced or Trainee

Concrete Pump Services 2002 Ltd (CPS) is looking for an experienced and/or trainee concrete pump operator to join our established team in Nelson.

CPS has been operating since 2002 and is a well-established, independently owned concrete pumping business servicing the top of the South Island. We work across the residential, commercial and civil sectors, with a modern fleet of six boom pumps ranging from 18m to 38m.

We have a strong reputation for being reliable, organised, efficient and professional, and we’re looking for someone who shares those values.

The Role

As a Concrete Pump Operator, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating our concrete pumps across a variety of projects throughout the Nelson/Tasman region.

Experience operating a concrete pump is preferred, however, we are also interested in hearing from candidates with a strong background in the concrete, construction or transport industry who are keen to develop their skills in concrete pumping.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operating concrete boom pumps on residential, commercial and civil sites
• Setting up and packing down equipment correctly and efficiently
• Working closely with builders, contractors, concrete placers and site personnel
• Communicating professionally with customers and the CPS team
• Carrying out daily pre-start checks
• Keeping pumps, trucks, hoses and equipment clean and well maintained
• Completing required job and equipment records
• Following all site and company Health & Safety requirements
• Taking responsibility for your equipment and ensuring each job is completed safely and to a high standard

For an experienced operator, you’ll ideally have

• Proven concrete pumping experience
• A current Class 4 Truck driver’s licence
• Good knowledge of safe pump operation and site procedures
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team

For a trainee, we’re looking for

• A current Class 2 or Class 4 Truck driver’s licence, with the ability and willingness to progress your licence
• A genuine interest in learning concrete pumping
• Someone who is mechanically minded
• A willingness to learn and take direction from experienced operators
• Reliability and punctuality
• A good work ethic and positive attitude
• The ability to communicate well with customers and the team
• Pride in looking after machinery and equipment
• A practical “can-do” attitude
