Auckland Transport (AT) is seeking an experienced Computer Vision Analyst to join our innovative team. In this role, you'll apply AI, Computer Vision, and advanced technologies to create, deliver, and support Computer Vision Builds that help shape the future of Auckland's transport network and city infrastructure.

You'll work end-to-end on medium to large-scale projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a full Agile environment. Your work will directly contribute to increased parking compliance, efficient incident management, network optimization, and improved safety for Aucklanders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in Computer Vision (CV) Builds projects, transforming business requirements into technical solutions and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and implement CV algorithms, conduct ground truth testing, and refine solutions using AT's CV Tool and APIs.
  • Design and fine-tune camera systems, including site visits and CCTV calibration.
  • Process structured data, develop ETL jobs, and build PowerBI dashboards.
  • Build cloud-native applications and work with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deploy solutions on OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms using ArgoCD and GitOps.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure service continuity for CV Builds, including after-hours support as needed.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CV tools and APIs, and manage MLOps processes.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), smart city initiatives, or video analytics, including practical knowledge of Video Management Systems (VMS) and Computer Vision applications.
  • Hands-on experience with the latest Computer Vision technologies, algorithms, and applications (object detection, tracking, image classification).
  • Experience with open-source Computer Vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV, OpenAI, YOLO), AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and MLOps platforms.
  • Strong background in SQL, data warehousing, ETL, and PowerBI.
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native applications.
  • Confident with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive attitude, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field with a focus on Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning Or preferably Master's or PhD in a related field.
