Job summary

Watercare Services Limited is seeking a Compliance Inspector to split time between the Newmarket office and on-site locations. You will work with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure the water and wastewater network projects comply with Auckland Council standards and Watercare specifications.

The role involves on-site inspections, pre-construction meetings, and audits, with a focus on maintaining compliance for new assets and Works Over activities.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in engineering or equivalent trade certificate.
• 5–10 years' experience in engineering or construction.
• Experience in site supervision and construction, or water/wastewater industry preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse customers.
• Full drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Undertake on-site compliance inspections for new, extended, and relocated Watercare assets.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings, inspections, and audits to support approvals.
• Perform final inspections to verify compliance with Watercare requirements.
• Carry out Works Over inspections near Watercare assets as required.

He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

We are currently looking for a Compliance Inspector to work in our Developer Services team! This is a great opportunity to balance your time working between our Newmarket offices and onsite. You will work closely with a wide range of people, including contractors, consultants, internal and external stakeholders. The compliance team works to ensure that the creation, extension and relocation of the water and wastewater network is constructed as per the Auckland Council (AC), Engineering Plan Approval (EPA) and ensures work is done to meet the compliance statement policy and specifications. You will engage with the construction industry on-site to undertake compliance inspection activities, including pre-construction meetings, inspections/audit and final inspection meetings, to support the approval of newly constructed public assets. The role also undertakes Works Over inspections to verify that works over or in proximity to existing Watercare assets are carried out in accordance with relevant Watercare requirements.

• Technical qualification in engineering or trade certificate equivalent.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate diverse customers
• A full drivers license.
