SPCA Gisborne Centre is seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse for a permanent part-time role, working Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. You will provide professional vet nursing care across domestic, unsocialised and wildlife animals, and assist vets with surgeries.

You will maintain documentation, support foster carers and volunteers, uphold hygiene protocols, deliver enrichment and animal welfare programs, and build strong relationships with staff and suppliers.

Formación

• A recognised Veterinary Nursing qualification with current registration.
• Experience in a clinical setting (shelter medicine is a bonus).
• Strong organisational, communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to educate and support others in animal welfare best practices.
• Commitment to high standards of animal care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsabilidades

• Provide professional veterinary nursing care and support across animals and assist vets with surgeries.
• Prepare surgical environments and ensure accurate documentation and records.
• Support foster carers and volunteers in safe, consistent care.
• Maintain hygiene protocols and safe environment for animals, staff and public.
• Deliver animal enrichment and welfare programs per SPCA standards.
