A community support organization in Westport is seeking individuals to help disabled people live independently and access community opportunities. The ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude, with experience in supporting individuals with high needs being a distinct advantage. This role promotes personal and professional development through on-the-job training and supportive working conditions.

This role is to ensure that disabled people can live in their own homes and participate in their own community by accessing opportunities of their choosing as detailed in their Personal Plan. Our work is undertaken alongside disabled people, their family/whānau, and supports the individual’s needs in a person directed, creative way, making a difference in the community.
We are looking for people who are able to demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes, and professional skills and knowledge:
Initiative, is reliable and flexible.
A positive attitude and a talent for developing supportive interactions.
Ability to relate well to a diverse arrange of people.
Experienced in supporting disabled people with high and complex needs would be a distinct advantage.
Have strong connections to the community.
Can work independently, but also in a team environment.
A willingness to work with people we support to achieve their goals.
On the job learning, ongoing support to achieve L3 and L4 Health and Wellbeing Certificates.
