Job summary

SILC is seeking an experienced Community Service Coordinator in Tauranga to lead a team of Community Support Workers delivering residential support services. You will partner with people we support and their whānau to develop aspirational, person-centred outcomes and plans while ensuring safe, high-quality, budget-conscious services.

You will coach and develop staff, foster a collaborative team culture, maintain records, and participate in ongoing organisational initiatives to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing teams in disability or community services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and make values-based decisions.
• Proven capability to coach and build capability within teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Community Support Workers in a residential support service.
• Develop aspirational, person-centred outcomes and plans with individuals and whānau.
• Roster management and staffing to ensure safe, effective services within budgets.
• Maintain accurate records and meet administrative reporting requirements.
• Build a positive team culture focused on collaboration, wellbeing and performance.
• Ensure safeguards are in place and respond to feedback and concerns.
• Maintain strong communication with people supported, families, advocates and organisations.
• Contribute to organisational initiatives and drive change in line with ENABLING GOOD LIVES.

About the Role

As a Community Service Coordinator, you’ll lead and support a team of Community Support Workers in our residential support service to provide innovative, customer-driven support that reflects each person’s individual needs, goals and aspirations and the Enabling Good Lives principles.

This role is about more than coordinating services – it’s about building capability, creating opportunities and supporting people to have choice and control in their lives.

• Partner with people we support and their families/whānau to develop aspirational, person-centred outcomes and plans.
• Ensure the services we provide are focused on achieving the outcomes that matter to each person.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Community Support Workers.
• Build a positive team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, wellbeing and high performance.
• Maintain strong communication with the people we support, families/whānau, advocates and community organisations.
• Respond to feedback and concerns and work proactively to resolve issues.
• Ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for the people we support.
• Manage rostering, staffing requirements and workloads to ensure services are safe, effective and within allocated budgets.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure administrative and reporting requirements are met.
• Contribute to organisational initiatives and be a positive, values-led change agent.
• Look for creative and innovative ways to overcome challenges and improve outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have:

• An appropriate qualification and/or relevant experience within the disability sector.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience supporting people with high health and complex physical disability needs.
• Experience effectively partnering with people and organisations.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to think creatively, solve problems and make sound, values-based decisions.
• Confidence in using Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• A leadership style that is collaborative, respectful, empowering and focused on developing others.
• Must be eligible to work in New Zealand and willing to meet police vetting requirements.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence and competence to drive a range of company vehicles, including mobility vans.
