Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Community Relations Officer to manage relationships with local communities around mining operations in Queenstown. This role is crucial for fostering positive engagement and ensuring the mine operates in harmony with its social environment.

You will be the primary liaison between the company and local stakeholders, developing and implementing community development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of community development principles and practices.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective community engagement strategies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for community members, leaders, and organizations.
• Manage and resolve community grievances and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Oversee the implementation of CSR programs and projects.
• Facilitate communication between the mine management and the local community.
• Monitor community sentiment and provide feedback to management on social risks and opportunities.
