A leading educational institution in Auckland is seeking a Community Leader (Dean) to lead a strong pastoral team. At Hobsonville Point Secondary School, we are a thriving and collaborative community. We are seeking an experienced pastoral leader to join our strong pastoral team and to make a real difference in the lives of our students.

As a community leader (dean), you will:

  • Lead and support 12 whānau coaches in your community
  • Oversee and manage the pastoral care of approximately 250 students from Y9–13
  • Grow teacher capacity to be effective academic and pastoral mentors
  • Work collaboratively with students, middle and senior leaders, and whānau to ensure every student feels supported and connected
  • Promote and uphold our commitment to restorative practice, inclusion, and the pursuit of academic and personal excellence
Responsibilities

You will have demonstrated highly effective pedagogy and experience as a whānau coach, tutor teacher, house leader, or dean. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and whānau are essential.

The role includes a teaching component. Applicants should indicate their preferred teaching subject(s) in their application. Physical education or economics experience is highly desirable.
