Job description

The Pacific Business Trust (PBT) is Aotearoa New Zealand’s dedicated Pacific Economic Development Agency. We’re here to unlock the potential of Pacific people, businesses, and communities through innovative, culturally grounded business development programmes and targeted investment.

It’s an exciting time to join PBT. Our mandate is expanding to support Pacific business and employment outcomes across more communities and regions across New Zealand. We work alongside Pacific entrepreneurs, enterprises, and organisations to build capability, resilience, and long-term success.

About the Role

As a Community Delivery Partner, you’ll be the vital connection between PBT and Pacific businesses in your region. You’ll work directly with local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to identify opportunities, remove barriers, and deliver tailored support through PBT’s programmes, grants, and services.

This role is all about building trusted relationships, understanding local needs, and championing Pacific aspirations. You’ll help ensure that Pacific businesses are supported with culturally grounded, practical pathways to growth and opportunity.

At PBT, we believe in being present where our communities are. That’s why we often co-locate with our strategic partners across Aotearoa New Zealand, helping us stay connected, accessible, and responsive to the business community we serve. You’ll be part of a national team that values collaboration, cultural integrity, and the power of relationships to drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with Pacific businesses and community leaders
  • Facilitating access to PBT’s business capability services and investment funding opportunities
  • Representing PBT at community events and engagements
  • Providing accurate reporting and insights to inform programme delivery
  • Championing Pacific-led solutions and economic development
About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Pacific communities and has the skills to support Pacific business success. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • A practical understanding of business, financial literacy, and business models
  • Proven experience in relationship management and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in service delivery, business support, or professional services
  • Strong networks within Pacific communities and businesses
  • A genuine passion for Pacific economic development
  • Confident using the Microsoft Office Suite to manage communications and schedules, and ideally with experience in data management systems
  • A tertiary qualification in business (preferred but not essential)
  • A current, full New Zealand driver’s licence
Why Join PBT?

At PBT, you’ll be part of a passionate team working to make a real difference. You’ll contribute to projects that drive economic growth and empower Pacific businesses across Aotearoa New Zealand. We offer a supportive and collaborative environment that values innovation, cultural integrity, and impact.
