A leading community-focused organization is seeking a Community and Youth Engagement Coordinator in Auckland. This role involves leading ecological and youth engagement projects to foster community involvement and environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for ecological restoration, able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
As the PFK team grows, we have an exciting position available for someone with skills in ecological restoration and community development, an energetic self-starter who enjoys working with young people and being part of a fast-paced and passionate team.
The Community and Youth Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for two main projects: Firstly, the existing PFK Halo Project, a place-based initiative to engage communities in their local restoration projects and to enhance understanding of catchment-based ecological priorities. Secondly, the Youth Programme, a pilot project to engage with local youth organisations and provide the conditions for an ongoing investment of time and care in their local environment.
The successful candidate will be energetic and dynamic, an independent worker as well as a team player, and familiar with the ngahere in Tāmaki Makaurau with a sound ecological knowledge.

This is a contract position, 30 hours per week, for a fixed term to 30 June 2026 (hourly rate of $32 per hour). This role requires field work as well as office-based work with the ability to work remotely from time to time.
