Overview

Kōwhai Ora is a charitable trust providing trauma-informed, peer-led support for wāhine, rangatahi, and whānau impacted by family harm. We run online peer support groups, workshops, and share resources that create safe, accessible spaces for healing, connection, and growth.

The Role

We are seeking a Communications & Social Media Volunteer to help share our kaupapa online. This is a fully remote role, perfect for someone creative who enjoys social media, content creation, and helping community organisations reach more people.

Responsibilities
  • Create and schedule social media posts using Canva and provided templates.
  • Share updates about workshops, peer groups, and wellbeing resources.
  • Assist with newsletters and digital communications.
  • Track engagement and suggest ideas for building our online community.
Skills and experience
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Basic Canva or other design tool skills (training provided).
  • Clear written communication.
  • Reliable internet access and ability to work independently.
